Aurum advised a professional vault curator and asset manager on the legal and regulatory structuring of a blockchain vault with over $100 Million in TVL and related curator activities. The vault was launched in cooperation with a large global blockchain protocol as the strategy originator.

The mandate focused on building an institution-ready operating model: development of regulatory strategy, structuring the curator SPV, designing the counterparties’ governance and control framework, and delivering documentation that clearly allocates responsibilities, embeds operational decision-making, and implements incident response, emergency and wind-down pathways.

“We are seeing more vault curators and strategy providers proactively seek robust legal protection and a credible regulatory posture before scaling on-chain products,” said Sergey Ostrovskiy, Partner at Aurum. “That shift is a positive signal for market maturity – serious operators want enforceable controls, clear accountability and practical recourse, not just technical deployment.”

“We expect this trend to accelerate as TVL grows and counterparties become more demanding,” Pavel Batishchev added. “Curators that combine disciplined structuring with operationally workable governance will be best positioned to expand distribution and engage institutional-grade partners.”
